How to change the Algorithm?

If you want to change your Upselling strategy, you can easily change the algorithm by going to Settings > Algorithm Logic.

So why do we change the algorithm? This is very important to see which Upselling Strategy works best on your webstore. You can start off by excluding certain product categories that you may find irrelevant for Upselling, changing the price range, and most importantly, changing the priorities that automatic upsell calculation follows. This will change what Upsells will show up first on your products.

After that, just click save changes and make sure to recalculate your Product Upsells to reflect the new algorithm logic. You can do this by going to Upsells > Products > Recalculate All Upsells.

How to decide where to show Recently Viewed and where Upsells?

Deciding what strategy works best always needs some A/B testing and Results Tracking. This can easily be done by our excellent and comprehensive Upsell Sales Tracking. Basically run the test on whichever key locations on your website, and compare the sales results coming from both Recently Viewed and Upsells.

How to Track Results from Upsells?

A great feature of this plugin is that it provides a detailed Upsell Sales Report of the results of your Upsell Strategy. The report comes with filters, a chart and calculates a variety of Key Performance Indicators so that you can obtain deep insights into your sales performance of your WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads Store.

Also, it is important to keep track of what your best-selling Upsells and Base products are because it can help you optimize your upsell strategy better. Also you can track which are the best locations on your website to either display Upsells or Recently Viewed products.

A summary shows you the relevant Key Performance Indicators of your Upsell Strategy – how much is your Upsell value, how many Upsells have been bought, what are your best Upsells and Base products, Top Orders and Customers and many more indicators.

You can also apply a variety of filters to put your focus on certain Upsells, Base products, time periods, display locations, customers and orders  and others.Learn more about this feature by reading our Documentation page.

How to Show Recently Viewed Products instead of Upsells?

With our plugin, you can choose either to show Upsells or Recently Viewed Products instead. What is the difference between the two?

  • Upsells – shows related products to customers that might be in the same category as of the product he/she already added on the cart.
  • Recently Viewed Products – shows products the customer has just recently viewed in order to remind them of products they already showed interest in by previously viewing it.

So how do we show recently viewed products instead? Whichever Upsell Location you want to make the changes, the settings are always the same. You can locate Show and instead of Upsells, choose Recently Viewed. Same with doing the changes on the Widget and Gutenberg Block.

For the shortcode, you can basically change the attribute from show=”upsells” to show=”viewed”. You can see all attributes by going to Settings > Shortcode.

How to Add Upsells via the Widget?

This plugin also comes with an Upsell Widget which you can insert on any Page Sidebars to display Upsells to more locations throughout your website, thus getting more chance of a conversion. Gently push them a little bit more to products they might be interested in and might want to purchase later on.

Simply go to Widget Settings, find UpsellMaster and add it on your chosen page sidebar.

How to automatically calculate Upsells per product?

We have a page to basically show a list of all your products alongside the Upsells automatically generated to each. You can also just click the Recalculate All Upsells if you want to recalculate the upsells already generated to each base product.

You can enable/disable Product Upsells for each product, check which upsells are generated for each product, preferences, and date calculated.

You can also filter out this list, Export to CSV, as well as to Recalculate All Upsells whenever upsell configurations were made on the Upsells Settings Page.

We also have a setting that is enabled in default which is to calculate Upsells automatically to all newly published products. You can find it in the General Settings page.

How to set Upsells on autopilot?

After installation and activation, the plugin will automatically calculate product Upsells for you. Just go to Upsells > Products > Recalculate All Upsells. This will enable Upsells on autopilot throughout your whole website.

You can go to Upsells > Settings to fine-tune your strategy then Recalculate again if needed.
